BRAVING THROUGH 2008

(A lengthy but worth reading post on the J Family Kitties)

It all started with a pair of brother and sister, Papa Jonathan and Mama Jessica, both were born on 21 March 2007 along the street of my neighborhood. Subsequently, the pair followed me home on the night of 9 June 2007 and remained in the comfort of their forever home until today. Here they were eating and sleeping well… until an incident changed their lives seven months later…

SEVEN MONTHS LATER… 4 January 2008… the start of a new J Family…

On 23 February 2008, the day of Janice was adopted by my friend (subsequently returned three days later for not being too litter smart… LOL!), a furry flea stricken kitten was thrown right at my door step. I took pity on the kitten and added him into the J Family. That was Jeremy then…

Another unexpected incident happened on 15 April 2008. Mama Jessica decided to ignore her nursing duties and went missing for 4 days when I was extremely ill. I thought it was just a getaway for taking care of the triplets so hard. The situation appeared differently after THREE MONTHS. On 22 June 2008… I had the twins, Jimmy and Joey.

When I thought EIGHT would be enough in the J Family, another unexpected stray came knocking on my door for food as early as 18 August 2008. She eventually did not go away as the many that had visited within 2008 and claimed my house as hers. That’s Jolyn… the 9th and latest member of the J Family Kitties…

JOLYN01

I hope the number will stop here as there could be another health disaster as Janice getting weird “horns” and the rest getting sick all at the same time. Although I still did received many uncalled for visits throughout the month of December, I had decided to put on hold any other adoptions for 2009 until I had settled the remaining of their outstanding medical bills. Geez! That few weeks old stray kitten has fur like Jeremy… Oops… STOP THINKING DADDY CRIZ!!

Anyway, it has been a great 2008 for the J Family Kitties. Without all the love, support and prayers given by you, they won’t be here to amuse you more. Thank you everybody for showing so much support and compassion towards the kitties.

Happy New Year and may 2009 and years ahead bring you more love, happiness, wealth and health!

Signing off for 2008,
Criz & the J Family Kitties.

SANTA CAUGHT SLEEPING

I think something is not right with the international connection these few days as I had problems browsing through some of the international sites. Even trying to browse through Yahoo was like waiting for ages. The last I heard was some cable problem linking this continent to the US sites. I hope they would rectify this problem soon. What a time to get this problem during this joyous season but I was lucky this time. I caught Santa Justin dozing off on his job. He was supposed to deliver some Christmas cat food to the strays in the neighborhood.

SANTAJUSTIN01

Oh no!! What have I done now? Santa Justin looked irritated by the flashes of the camera. Is he going to erase my name for being the good J Family Daddy just because I shot his sleeping shots? Help!

SANTAJUSTIN02

After much apologizes, Santa Justin decided to forgive me (psss… after a nice juicy roasted chicken drumstick and some warm milk... haha). Well, he got his points right. He really deserved to get some good rest after a hard night’s of work. Bravo Santa! You did a great job making more strays happy this Christmas!

SANTAJUSTIN03

To all my friends and those who had supported the J Family Kitties through all the ups and downs of 2008... Thank you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

WHY I DID NOT HAVE THOSE?

The world has become a better place for pets as more and more items are created for the best of the animals. There was this wonderful news that had appeared in our local daily today on Ernest, the first ever known cat to be given the gift to look at things better.

ERNESTLENS01

Well, my macho boy saw the news and cried foul over why he was not given a pair of contact lenses. He wanted to look as handsome as Ernest.

ERNESTLENS02

After much convincing, Jeremy had decided to forgo the idea of wearing contact lenses as it would be years before he would need a pair. Moreover, he’s only one year old and he would look more macho to be in a designer’s glasses. Hehehe…

PHOTO HUNTERS – WIDE

photohunters

This week’s theme is on WIDE.
Jeremy is one cat in the J Family Kitties
that like to exaggerate on everything.
He once told everyone that he had caught
a big fish and it was more than a foot WIDE.

WIDE01

No one believed in him as the biggest fish
in the house was only one inch long
and less than half an inch WIDE.

WIDE02

See! Never boast too much as the truth
would eventually be revealed in WIDE open!

SEASONS GREETINGS

SEASONSGREETINGS01

Christmas is just by the corner and so is the welcoming of 2009. It has been a busy year for me and the J Family Kitties as we could hardly find time to visit many for the past few weeks. I hope everyone would have a great time for the remaining of this year as well as for many years to come. Here’s just a wish for everyone in the blogosphere. Ouch! Jimmy demanded to make that special wish. Haha…

LIFE IS NOT A TOY

BADJOLYN01

We do understand the meaning of life and appreciate it when we are still alive and be able to go about with our daily routines but do our little furry kitties understand life? Do they know that living creatures ought to be left alone to be as free as the skies? I doubt it as they will think that it’s just another moving toy. I may sound a bit weird and upset today as I was quite disappointed with what my wild girl, Jolyn, did right in front of my eyes. It caused the loss of a life…

I was shocked when I woke up this morning after a hectic night trying to manage the J Kitties’ food and medical expenses account. The first thing I open my door, I saw feathers all over my porch. I went to investigate and saw these…

BADJOLYN02

Then amongst my plants… this…

BADJOLYN03

Suddenly, there was a chirp and there it was fighting for its life against the cruel bite of that wild tempered Jolyn. I tried to save that poor bird but Jolyn had bitten even more deeply into its throat and ran away with it. Bad girl!

BADJOLYN04

Even Janice and Justin would not touch any “LIFE” food. Both were not too happy with what Jolyn did too. Now I’m beginning to wonder on the mystery of my missing fishes in my aquarium now. Jolyn could be the culprit for what I know.

BADJOLYN05

NEVER ASS/U/ME on anything whether dead or alive or even situations as it would always end up making an “ASS” out of “U” and “ME”. I’m sorry about the language usage but it’s the truth. See what happened when our Three Little Pigs assumed that it was the wolf they had caught…

Anyway, “Merry Christmas” to all my friends out there! Thanks for being there always for the J Kitties.

This week’s theme is on FAVORITE.
This Miss Orange Spiky Tomato Head
was one of my FAVORITE creations
that I had presented during a recent
potluck gathering.

Unfortunately someone wasn’t that
happy with the decision.
He preferred to be
Daddy’s FAVORITE
because he is
Mister Orange Spiky Head!!

I HAVE RECEIVED SOME COMPLAINTS!

I thought I could have more time to rest but things did not work out as I would have expected. Instead of some good and peaceful night sleep daily, I would be waken up at 6.00am punctually every morning, only to meet the demands of a few hungry creatures in the house… you should know who right? Once waken up so abruptly, I would be like a zombie, moving around the house light a robot, cleaning up the mess of fallen tissue box, scattered rubbish, unexpected “bombs” and also finding my lost fridge piggy magnet note holders. Hmmm… where is my shaver now? It’s not in place too…

With all the daily chores, I still get complaints. It’s not one complaint but from all the nine gremlins in the house. Why?

I think it’s time I send them to the Outward Bound School to be more discipline and at the same time know their sense of time. LOL!
