THANKSGIVING – WOULD YOU TRUST YOR CAT TO BRING FOOD OVER?

Sassy had invited the J Family Kitties to an informal Thanksgiving Dinner and look what happened to the Turkey Pot Pie I had asked Jeremy to bring over? Gosh! That boy sure has a great appetite when it comes to delicious food. No wonder he is beginning to look like Garfield. Sweat~ I feel so shy for his bad behavior now. I guessed you guys won’t mind a missing piece from Turkey Pot Pie? Hehe... Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends out there…

THE PARTY WAS A SUCCESS

Everything turned out real well for Daddy's Birthday Party. The guests enjoyed themselves so much that some of them helped themselves to countless rounds of the food. Some of the kitties were concerned that there would be lots of dishes for us to wash. We, the J Kitties are smart in our party planning. Why do you think we invited beans to come to the party? They are the slaves for cleaning up all the cat litters scattered everywhere from the dining hall, garden until the bathrooms.

CLEANCREW

There were some who are smart enough to send messages but avoided the party but we managed to captivate four to clear up the mess. :P They are PapaJoneh from East Malaysia, Napaboaniya from Singapore, Annabell from Switzerland and of course Momo’s forever slave SS from Australia. Daddy was spared as he was the man of the day. After all, he had been captivated in a room for seven straight days. Oops…did I just spill that out? :P *** Banging Jeremy’s head ***

Anyway, there was so much exotic food left that we packed takeaway bags for everyone to bring back to their country. Justin designed some cute “for him” and “for her” bags and filled it up with lots of goodies.

DOGGY BAGS

Can you guess what else is in the bag? It is a specially designed plaque with our greatest thanks for your time and attendance.

GROUP PLAQUE

Thank you everyone for taking some time off to fly all the way here to make this party an unforgettable one. Please do not forget to tune in this Saturday and Sunday for the exciting CCSI III – The Missing Mummy Caper, written by Daddy Criz, directed by Opus & Roscoe, produced by Sassy & her Little Productions Team and acted by many of the guests who had visited here earlier.

THE MUCH AWAITED SURPRISE PARTY FOR DADDY

The J Family members would like to welcome everyone to the party. Make sure that you all had a great time and do enjoy all the food we had prepared for you. Without waiting any longer, let us jump onto our seat and get ourselves comfortable. The party will begin anytime. Please be patience as the food would gradually be served. For those who did not manage to sign in the attendance, please do so after the dinner.

Now let us get the party going. ***Drums roll*** Announcing the arrival of our lovable Daddy! ***soft background music playing*** Ladies and Gentlemen! The meals are served now…

DISH 1: FOUR SEASONS
Since everyone is from all parts of the world and had experienced the changes of seasons, it is appropriate to serve this FOUR SEASONS dish. Right at the top clockwise are Catnips (compliment by Uncle Karl), Japanese Stir-fried Baby Octopus with sesame seeds, Tuna Mix with Avocado topped with grilled prawns and Clay Baked Salty Chicken.

FOURSEASONS.jpg

DISH 2: CREPE DELIGHT
We learned this dish when a friend of ours dropped by from France. Justin and Jayson made the crepe skins and Mama Jess stir fried some marinated chicken and beef cubes in thick creamy mushroom crème and sprinkled with some chopped oregano leaves. Since Papa Jonathan had netted a lot of fresh prawns, we decided to garnish the halved crepe with a grilled prawn each. Don’t you think Janice is so creative with the decoration?

CREPEDELIGHT.jpg

I hope all of you had a great time with the dishes served so far. They will be free flow of Japanese Green Tea to wash out all the oily food and some great beverages such as Niptington, wine and Lizquila compliment by Uncle Karl as well.

BEVERAGES.jpg

DISH 3: INDIAN TANDOORI CHICKEN
Mama Jess thought of letting the guests try out her Baked Tandoori Chicken. This authentic Indian cuisine is much loved by the locals here. Whole chicken or choice pieces are marinated in Tandoori sauce plus a bit of yogurt and baked until cooked. It is normally served with Nan Bread but since there are so many dishes served, we did not make any. I am sorry about that burned part of the wings as Jayson forgot to wrap it with aluminum foils before putting the dish into the oven. :P

TANDOORICHICKEN.jpg

Ooo… we have a special guest appearance here. Let us welcome the Cole Cats starring Mickey as Cat King Cole and Sassy as Catalie Cole. Please click on the music bar to listen to the oldies :P

COLECATS.jpg

DISH 4: MALAYSIAN GRILLED SPICY STINGRAY
Mama Jess made this the Malaysian way. She marinated the stingray (compliment by Uncle Karl) with turmeric powder, chili paste and some blended onions. She slowly grilled the fish slices wrapped in banana leaves until it become golden brown. Try garnishing the grilled fish with some Malaysian shrimp paste chili with chopped big onions and lime juice (Sambal Belacan). Warning… this combination can be fiery hot!

GRILLSTINGRAY.jpg

DISH 5: INDONESIAN GADO GADO
Mama Jess made this dish for those guests who love vegetables a lot. It is an Indonesian salad where the sauce is made from pounded peanuts, some spicy herbs and coconut milk. It is not hot and is suitable even for kids. We had a hard time cutting up all those long beans, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, boiled some eggs and fried some tofu. Actually, we did fry some prawn crackers to go with it but the whole J Family members finished all while watching “Cats and Dogs II” last few nights. :P

GADOGADO.jpg

DISH 6: KOREAN WINE SAMGYAPSAL
I’m sure a lot of you would love BBQ but we are having it the Korean way where we will BBQ our food right at our table. Try Mama Jess’s secret wine marinated ribs, chicken drumsticks and mussels.

SAMGYAPSAL.jpg

DISH 7: EMPEROR’S SEAFOOD NOODLE
This noodle dish was meant solely for the Emperor but we managed to smuggle one of the palace’s Chinese Kitty chefs to cook for us today. We love seafood a lot and thus he put lots of juicy squids, giant prawns, clams and abalone in it. We love the creamy taste a lot.

SEAFOODNOODLES.jpg

DISH 8: DESSERTS OF THE WORLD
As for dessert, we have three different types imported all the way from China, Thailand and Japan. They are the Chinese Prosperity Fish Jelly, Thai Seahorse Jelly Bar and Japanese Taiyaki with hot steaming red bean paste.

SEAFOODDESSERT.jpg

DISH 9: BIRTHDAY CAKE:
What is a birthday without a cake? Janice made this cake especially for Daddy. The cake comes in a fish bowl with a wooden fish stand. Inside the bowl, the base is filled with assorted flavors of cube cakes, fish shaped candies and filled with yummy Vietnamese Dragon Fruit Jelly. Of course, we lighted ONE CANDLE only. Daddy wants to FEEL YOUNG everyday… hehe

BIRTHDAYCAKE.jpg

It was almost sunset when the birthday cake was served. We had the cake served outdoor by the cliff overseeing the Straits of Malacca. Everyone was excited to take a group shot. As usual Uncle Karl was overdosed with Lizquila, and his fiancé, Ruis need to accompany him all the time. Wait! Where is Daddy? Did someone accidentally knocked him down the cliff? Help!! Hmm… we have the CCSI III – The Missing Mummy Caper coming up this 10th &11th May, are we having The Missing Daddy Caper next? Hahaha…

WE ARE READY TO PARTY

Tomorrow will be the surprise party and we are ready to party all day long! Before that, we will still need our beautiful rest as we are tired from all the preparations. Can you see our faces? Do you think we looked tired?

SHOWER01

Just look at the kids sleeping. It has been a long week of preparation for them too. In fact, I think Jeremy is so tired that I can hear him snoring very loudly.

SHOWER02

We just had our showers too. We girls would smell like apples tomorrow. As for the guys, they had their share of blueberry. See how fluffy our furs are now.

SHOWER03

Hmmm… anyone would like to try out these two? :P

CLEANING UP IN PREPARATION

Count down … 2 days more before the surprise party! I am think I have been taking things for granted all these while. All know is to eat, sleep and enjoy my life away without thinking how much work Mama Jessica had to go through daily. I had just help in cleaning up one utensil for the party and I am dead tired now. Can you imagine the amount of utensils we need to clean up in preparations to the party?

CLEANPARTY01

No doubt there would be about 20 or so guests coming but we still need to prepare more in case some popped up unexpectedly. I heard there would be some beans gate crashing too. Let’s hope they would not have too big an appetite to gobble up all the food… haha. Well, since I am done with the cleaning up, I might as well spend the rest of the night cleaning myself up too. Yawn…I really need some sleep now.

CLEANPARTY02

Can you all guess what I had just help to clean up? This is something that everyone would love to have and try out during the party. The first one who guess it right will get to eat more during the party…hehe :P

CLEANPARTY03

If you are attending the party but do not see your name appearing here in Mister Linky, please fill it up. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks… Jon.

CATSOPHERE#09 – ANYTHING INTERESTING?

CATSOPHERE#09

Well, we have to apologize for not visiting more as our internet line was so bad during these few days that we could hardly log into any sites especially Blogger. We really felt like punching the computer but then we would not have a computer left to use. I really felt sorry for my present Internet Service Provider (ISP) as we are in the process of changing to another one that is more stable and with fewer disruptions. 15 months of being patient is enough. You can check out my long complaint here.

Anyway, this week’s cover model is Moe, the sweet orange cat from Team Tabby. He will show you what it takes to be a mancat. Firstly, you need to groom yourself well from ears to paws. You need to show your beans you are the man of the house. Secondly, you need to have a sense of time. You should know when it is time to eat and try to get the beans up before the alarm clock. Isn’t breakfast the most important meal of the day? Thirdly, you should know the places the beans hide all the yummy food in the house. Well, I guessed Mindy is fortunate to have a mancat in to bring her food whenever she is hungry.

Wow… Miss Peach sure knows how to visit lots and lots of places in Hawaii. There were even two cute calico ladies welcoming her there. Can you imagine there is an island called CATalina Island? She could not resist taking lots of photos with the beautiful island dancers and cute, handsome yet macho dancers. She even visited the once dormant volcano where she felt the real lava. She even had yummy tasting Mai Tai Nipteenie in the island resort. Want to find out more about her wonderful trip, drop by to read on more updates.

Camies Kitties did a great job with their Knock Knock Fundraiser in aid of Mu Shue, Lilly Lu and Iris. Of course, you need a brainy head such as Daisy’s to come out with this idea. :P For every Knock Knock joke a participant post in their blog, they will donate $0.50. Keep a look out on the updates on how much they will be donating soon.

How nice it is to be together to celebrate anniversaries of others but it would be even greater if it is our own. Well today is the one year anniversary of Cheysuli and Latte. Isn’t it nice to celebrate it in Disney World and head out to some private island after that? I wondered if they are going to do something naughty over there. Haha :P Next to watch out would be Karl and Ruis’s wedding end of this month.

Check out on how the Crew of the Hijinx went over to visit Samantha & Tigger. Can you imagine so many of them on board a tiny boat and yet it can still float? :P Well, they had lots of food and entertainment. I wondered if they are going to fly over or take a cruise to Daddy’s surprise party this Thursday. We just could not wait to receive them with open arms.

Speaking of the surprise party, the guest list is still open as we have barely 3 days more to prepare for the party. If you have yet to confirm your attendance, please do add your name in the list below. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you all here. Have a great week ahead!

PREPARATION IN PROGRESS

Count down … 4 days more before the surprise party! I am already feeling the exhaustion now with so much of preparation to do, so many things to marinate, chop and fridge them properly. I just wondered how Karl managed to handle all the things during his blogoversary? I desperately need a rest now. Maybe Janice can help me to get a brush for glazing the BBQ meats.

A SURPRISE DELIVERY

STINGRAY02

Mama Jessica almost fainted when she answered the door this morning. There at the door was Uncle Karl making a personal and surprise delivery. He was carrying a big huge devil over his shoulder. He had just taken a flight from Thailand after hunting for the infamous blue spotted stingray for the coming party. I guessed Mama Jessica would have to think of some recipe to cook this exotic creature. Argghh… its eyes are so alien!!

Uncle Karl was explaining to us on his adventurous outing to get hold of that devil and how hard it was to get it up to the shore. The battle between him and the devil took him almost two hours. He finally caught hold of the belly of the stingray and carried that heavy creature up. I do not know how Uncle Karl could have withstood the cold temperature of the water. In fact, we kittens hated water a lot. Uncle Karl is so brave!

STINGRAY03

“Boys…cut the crap out and come help me figure out how to store this thing!” shouted Mama Jessica with an aftershock look. “It is a good gesture but am I to cook for a battalion of army with that size? Karl…you should have taken something smaller here.”

STINGRAY01

Hey, before I forget again, please sign in your attendance for the surprise party in Mister Linky. It is easier for me to keep track of who is attending. Thank you. I have to figure out how I am going to cook this stingray now. I guessed I do not have to worry about not having enough food to go around now. Hehe…

THE BRATS HAVE TAKEN OVER THIS BLOG!

FAMILYDISCUSSION

The J Brats: Hehehehe…

Jessica: Jeremy! Jayson! Janice! Justin! What do you think you all are doing there in front of the computer?

Jeremy: Aw…Mom. We have to do this to keep Daddy away from this computer. We changed his password. Hehe…

Jessica: What? You did what?

Jonathan: Kids… don’t you know Daddy will get angry with anyone fiddling with his computer?

Janice: Papa… You told us and you forgot what month this is? It’s May!

Justin: Don’t tell me you forgot to take your memory booster again Papa?

Jonathan: Errrr… Yes, I forgot. With all you mischievous brats around, how could anyone remember anything?

Jayson: Papa! How could you? Daddy only gets to celebrate this special day once a year and you forgot?

Jessica: **smacking Papa’s head** You forgetful old man!

Jonathan: Oh! That special day. Hehe… What’s your plan then kids?

Justin: We were thinking of holding a surprise party for Daddy. Jeremy will come out with the invitation since he is such an IT expert. Papa will monitor the attendance and make sure that everyone will reply before 4 May 2008. Mama and Janice would be busy in the kitchen. Jayson and I would be doing the shopping to hunt for the freshest food available.

JAYSONTALK

Jonathan: Sounds like a good idea but do you think anyone would come since we are so new in the neighborhood?

Jessica: **smacking Papa’s head again** Why must you always think so negatively? You forgot that I would be acting in the CCSI III: The Missing Mummy Caper and I’m sure that most of the production team and casts would love to attend this party.

Jonathan: Errr…but…

Jessica: Now what? You want to get another smack on your head?

Jonathan: Hey! I just wanted to know what we will be having in the menu as you know that there are even bunnies and dogs from the cast.

Jessica: Hmmm… I was thinking of something Asian. I’m sure everyone from all parts of the world would want to try something exotic and way out from the norm. What do you think kids?

Janice: Sounds great Mom!

Justin: I could not have agreed more.

Jeremy: Are we having a lot fish? I love fish a lot. Yummy!

Jayson: Why must you always be so excited when it comes to food Jeremy?

Jessica: Haha. Well, he is a growing boy Jayson. So are the rest of you kids. Anyway, that’s a good idea. I shall prepare lots of seafood, meat and green vegetables for everyone but then I will finalize everything when the guest list is confirmed. It’s going to be a sit-down party with lots of food on the table.

Jeremy: Mama rocks! **click clak click clak** The invitation is all set Mom. Let’s hope everyone sees this and reserve their seating.

INVITATION

Jonathan: Since everyone is so far apart, do you think that they will know the exact time to arrive for the party?

Jeremy: **click clak click clak** Done! Everyone should be able to check the differences in their world time against our time here in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur).

Jessica: Bravo Jeremy. You have learned a lot by spying on Daddy all the time. I guessed you would be in the detective career in the future. Now, let’s wait for the guests’ confirmations here.

UPDATED GUEST LIST: Oops... I forgot about this. Please fill in Mr Linky if you are attending the party.

I FELT SO BAD NOT GOING

I wanted to attend Sassy’s Slumber Party this weekend but in the end I gave up because I could not get that piece of sarong cloth to be tied properly. I’m afraid that it would drop off if not tied securely. I wondered if the crowd would scream in shock or drool in excitement if it ever came down unexpectedly? Haha :P

Anyway, I hope Momo got entertained well with the company of Sassy, Opus, Roscoe, Karl and Ruis this weekend while SS is busy with her thesis. Do enjoy your party guys and gals! :)

I AM BACK FOR MY BIRTHDAY!

 JJBIRTHDAY04

Jonathan finally came back from his expedition this morning. What? Six days MIA without food and clean water? This guy is really crazy. I hope he did not get any diseases from that bitchy stray out there. The first thing I did was to get him into a warm bath as I mentioned in my earlier post. Gosh… the same old flea problems again? Grrr… two hours of bathing, drying and flea-pinching again! Well, since today is his special day, I just let him go without much cursing… but not for long… haha!

 JJBIRTHDAY01

The most coincidental thing is that Jonathan and Jessica are sharing the same birthday as my god brother, JJ. See! Even his name starts with a “J”…haha! There were not much of celebrations, except that I got some cakes and held a small cake tea party. I am sure you can guess what type of cake I got for them. It is a mousey cake!

 JJBIRTHDAY03

Did you all love your cake Jonathan and Jessica? I am sure they do at the rate they gobbled down the slices within minutes. Even the babies were enjoying themselves. Cecil did write an article on “how bad chocolates are to the health of cats and kittens” but I guessed once yearly on their birthday should not be that bad at all.

 JJBIRTHDAY02

Anyway, Happy 1st Birthday Jonathan and Jessica! Happy 22nd Birthday bro!

Psss… Jonathan did get lots of presents for his birthday, I will mention about it soon. Do keep a look out for my updates. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!
