LIFE IS NOT A TOY

BADJOLYN01

We do understand the meaning of life and appreciate it when we are still alive and be able to go about with our daily routines but do our little furry kitties understand life? Do they know that living creatures ought to be left alone to be as free as the skies? I doubt it as they will think that it’s just another moving toy. I may sound a bit weird and upset today as I was quite disappointed with what my wild girl, Jolyn, did right in front of my eyes. It caused the loss of a life…

I was shocked when I woke up this morning after a hectic night trying to manage the J Kitties’ food and medical expenses account. The first thing I open my door, I saw feathers all over my porch. I went to investigate and saw these…

Then amongst my plants… this…

BADJOLYN03

Suddenly, there was a chirp and there it was fighting for its life against the cruel bite of that wild tempered Jolyn. I tried to save that poor bird but Jolyn had bitten even more deeply into its throat and ran away with it. Bad girl!

BADJOLYN04

Even Janice and Justin would not touch any “LIFE” food. Both were not too happy with what Jolyn did too. Now I’m beginning to wonder on the mystery of my missing fishes in my aquarium now. Jolyn could be the culprit for what I know.

BADJOLYN05

NEVER ASS/U/ME on anything whether dead or alive or even situations as it would always end up making an “ASS” out of “U” and “ME”. I’m sorry about the language usage but it’s the truth. See what happened when our Three Little Pigs assumed that it was the wolf they had caught…

Anyway, “Merry Christmas” to all my friends out there! Thanks for being there always for the J Kitties.

I believe it was Oscar Wilde who said that nature is red in tooth and paw, and never is that more true than when a cat turns into a huntress. Yes, it seems cruel but she was only doing what comes naturally - mercilessly torturing a defenceless creature. I do it to baby mao all the time!

Do not be mad at her.. we here value life immensely also, goodness, Momma even catches spiders and ants and puts them outside rather than kill them.
Hunting is for cats as breathing is to hoomans,in fact you know when a cat truely thinks you part of their family is when they deliver to you a "catch", they are trying to feed you, bring you a present.
We are inside kittehs so we have not had the satisfaction, but you can put bells on our collars and bring us in of a night to help these things.
Remember we have not yet evolved like you guys.. if you had not evolved you would still be out there hunting and killing things too! ;)
Food for thought.;)

Praline's mom speaking - I sure am glad that Praline doesn't go outside. I just shiver at seeing the "natural hunting" of our precious kitties.

Cats are often so proud to be hunters--it is hard to catch a bird and it is what they do. They have no morality. If we hadn't taken them, how would they eat?

Don't be angry with Jolyn, it's instinct and natural. It's how we kitties eat in da wild. It takes spectacular hunting skill to catch a bird.

We understand because our mom has difficulty with hunting of any kind, even if it's instinctual. I think that's why she only lets us outside on our harnesses, because she has feeders everywhere for all the wild things in our yard.

Poor birdie. But Jolyn was only doing what came naturally to her. You have a big heart, caring for and about all the animal kingdom.

It is very hard for us kitties not to hunt. Even us indoor kitties will consider an intruder mouse fair game. Mom found a mouse body after we, uh, 'played' wif it. Please don't be too angry wif Jolyn, we are guilty too.
