FAREWELL MAMA JESSICA

It started in early January 2007 when two cute kittens followed me and my God-Brother home from work. Eventually we adopted both of them, our first formal adoption though we had befriended many other strays along the way. Somehow, these cuties had melted our hearts with their little actions. Papa Jonathan had gone missing during one of his romancing nights while Mama Jessica had been closely tied to me ever since. That's 3394 days (9 years 3 months and 14 days) of great memories to cherish. With an appetite of 8 meals a day and still asking to be fed more, Mama Jessica suddenly went fragile and frail during the last 2 months without consuming anything at all. She had to be syringe fed 3-4 times a day with a dozen syringes of liquid food, fluids and boosters to build up her energy. It helped initially but went from bad to worst after a few weeks. Her muscles deteriorated until she was left with flesh and bones on her hind legs. Her wounds won't heal and she had to be manually cleaned many times to avoid her urine's acidity to further burned off more parts of her skins. She barely could move... She barely could greet me upstairs each morning as always... BUT she still tried her best to do so... It made me in tears seeing how loyal and true she had been with me all these years.

I was already expecting this day but I did not give up hope to get her back to her usual health. The blood test came back negative on kidney failure but with mild trace of FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus which she would have been infected by her parents by birth) and barely noticeable liver infection. She was practically in the "safe zone". However, with weakened immune system through age and a former victim to FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease), her body could not cope with the "wear and tear" stresses anymore. I've tried to make her remaining days more comfortable by spending more time with her whenever I could... even up to the wee hours of the day just by sleeping next to her and "chatting" with her on our good old times. It may sound weird but I could sense that she knew everything I said by the sign on her tapping tail.

Everything was still fine when I was syringe feeding her until my God-Brother came back from work and greeted her. She looked at him and me, then decided to call it quit. Her heart beats stopped on 5 July 2016 at 6.30pm. No matter how we tried to resuscitate her, there were no more signs of movements. She stayed lifeless. We had done our best to keep her alive and now she's in the hands of God. May her soul rest in peace... Farewell Mama Jessica... We shall miss you a lot...

Tribute To Mama Jessica:

You came into my life when I was lost in my life journey...
You showered me endlessly with your 2 generations of furry cuties...
Now that you have gone over the rainbow bridge...
My heart feels so empty without your companionship...

You are no longer there to greet me each morning with your true love and affection...
You are no longer there to make me smile when I was down...
You are no longer there to make me laugh with your cute and clumsy actions...
You are no longer there to allow me to love you even more...
Life will be quiet now without your presence...

You are far more than just a pet to me...
You are part of my loving family...
You are the light of my life...
You are what made me who I'm today...
A person who's filled with love and compassion for other living beings...

I'll cherish all the precious time we had together...
You are such a loving soul that I'll always cherish in my memories...
Goodbye Mama Jessica...
May your soul rest in peace...
We shall meet again soon...

GOODBYE JASPER

I always have the phobia when December is nearing. It's always the worst month in my life having the cruel blow of losing so many cats. Firstly, it was Jordan, who was having a long bout of epilepsy cases, missing and was never found since earlier this month. Now it's Jasper's turn to be in the hands of God~ We were still enjoying our roasted chicken on Christmas Eve and today he's gone... just like that. No signs of illness... He just fell weak and tired this morning and by 3.30pm... He left us in tears and sorrow... It's another sad day in December 2014 for everyone here including the J Family Kitties.. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.. We'll meet again at the Rainbow Bridge... Goodbye Jasper L... my beloved "Pikachu"~

A Tribute To My Best Friend & Family - Jasper L.

I remember how you sunbathe on that specific spot...
That's where you always lie down and gave me that handsome little smile...
Now it's all so quiet with you no more...
No more echo from your voice along the road...
No more of you running towards me each time I came back home...
It's now filled with emptiness out there and inside my heart...
Though you were with me for not too long...
I'll always treasure those great memories...
Goodbye my friend... my great companion...
Til we meet above again...

WELCOME TO THE FIRST CAT CAFÉ NAMED PURRFECT CAT CAFÉ IN PENANG

Purrfect Cat Café was finally officiated by our Penang Chief Minister, YAB Lim Guan Eng, on 26 January 2014. It’s the first of its kind in Penang, located along Lebuh Muntri, within the buffer zone of the UNESCO World Cultural City of George Town, Penang. Ever since the opening of the world’s first cat café in Taipei in 1998 (Café Dog & Cats/貓花園), the concept subsequently went viral in Japan and many other parts of the world. Being a pet lover ever since my childhood days and also as a cat blogger during the days when most of my little furry angels were still here running around on earth, the amazing news was something to be happy about.

 PURRFECTCAT01 photo PURRFECTCAT01_zpsaaaca0dc.jpg

Here’s a video clip on the Grand Opening by our Chief Minister, YAB Lim Guan Eng.

Unlike the one in Kuala Lumpur which also provides pet supplies, pet hotel and also pet grooming, Purrfect Cat Café basically sells cat related merchandizes at the ground floor and the café would utilize the top floor. The merchandizes range from T-shirt for both genders, bags, stationeries, soft toys, mugs, cute cat figurines, earrings, key chains and more. I do hope that they would also sell some cat supplies as well in the near future. Here’s a peep at what you would be expecting upon entering the premises.

 PURRFECTCAT02 photo PURRFECTCAT02_zps666c0d69.jpg

Currently, Purrfect Café is charging a minimum spending of RM18/pax. The amount would be based on the accumulative pricing from the designated menu which would include food and beverages. You can check out more on the items available at CRIZ BON APPETITE

Prior to visiting the cats, you have to sanitize your hands and take off your shoe before moving upstairs where the cats are. Moving up the white wooden stairways of the premises would lead you to an enclosed area where there would be two segregated zones. One zone would be cat-free where you could sit down and enjoy your food and beverages while watching the adorable cats in their play room. The other zone would be the cats’ personal play room and guest room where they would mingle with the guests while showing off their cuteness. Please take note that the cats’ play room is out of bound for unauthorized humans.

 PURRFECTCAT03 photo PURRFECTCAT03_zpsd365d46e.jpg

There’s also the Terms & Conditions (as shown in photo below) while patronizing the cat café. Do take some time to digest the information stated within before moving into the cats’ play room. Failing to do so, you might get yourself slapped with a heavy fine of RM100. Another new term would be that children below 10 years old cannot go into the room by themselves, unaccompanied by adults.
 PURRFECTCATCAFETC photo PURRFECTCATCAFETC_zpsa8d045a8.jpg
The cat café currently has 8 cats at the moment. I managed to play with them during a few visits as they are always on different shifts. Let me introduce them to you. Firstly, we have Snowy, Purrfect Cat Café’s iconic mascot, the first resident, a white Local Shorthair with duo colored eyes, a form of heterochromia commonly occurred on white furred cats. The bobtail white tabby had the personalities almost like the American Bobtail - energetic, affectionate, intelligent, vocal and territorial.

 PURRFECTCAT04 photo PURRFECTCAT04_zpsc8c92323.jpg

Another main attraction would be Orange, a Persian, an intelligent, sweet-tempered cat, always all out to seek attention and affection. He loves to play intermittently after resting his heavy butt. Some loves to call him Mr. Proud as he’s not the cat that would pay attention to your calls. He can be rather bossy at times with his facial expressions. LOL!

 PURRFECTCAT05 photo PURRFECTCAT05_zps8982b64f.jpg

We then have Bear, a blue colored coat and double ear fold Scottish Fold. Practically, Scottish Folds are “owl-like in a cat suit”. He can be quiet at times but can show his sweetness and affection after knowing you better. The gentle and yet reserved Bear tends to be independent and love to have some free space and time away from all the commotions within the room. He loves to entertain himself rather than being sociable to strangers.

 PURRFECTCAT06 photo PURRFECTCAT06_zpsd4c6e7f6.jpg

A milder temperament cat would be Teddy, a single ear fold Scottish Fold. Teddy on the other hand loves endless attention and affection. He’s great in getting along with just anyone in the room by trying to impress them with his over cuteness and bubbly big eye balls.

 PURRFECTCAT07 photo PURRFECTCAT07_zpsfb2c591b.jpg

I also met up with Leo, a Bengal. Leo was a bit different compared to the younger Molly as stated below. He’s more mature I guessed. He seems to have a mild personality, from temper, adaptability, sociability to politeness. Though playful at times, he’s not as assertive and playful as Molly. He tends to go about the room doing whatever he likes by showing his curiosity over his surroundings.

PURRFECTCAT08 photo PURRFECTCAT08_zpsdd9f0e17.jpg

Now we have Molly, another Bengal. One word to describe her – HYPERACTIVE and she’s definitely not a lap cat. She tends to do lots of funny stunts on practically anything within the room. Well, this intelligent brat surely would need lots of space and toys to play with. At least this would her occupied from boredom. She practically loves playing with young children due to both of them having the same energy level to run around. :P

 PURRFECTCAT09 photo PURRFECTCAT09_zps7c20661c.jpg

“I’m not grumpy. It’s just the marking on my lips”, said Marble, an American Shorthair. Marble has nice personalities with mild temperament, not overly cuddly nor distant, neither couch potatoes nor hyperactive. She can be a great companion since she can adapt well with other animals and children. Don’t judge her by her look as she’s one adorable cat which has the tender loving care for anyone.

 PURRFECTCAT10 photo PURRFECTCAT10_zpsa74b8fde.jpg

There was also Nala, a tortoiseshell colored British Shorthair. She tends to be rather shy, low profile and reserved during the first approach. However, once she knows you well, she can be a faithful companion, endlessly showering not only you but the whole family lots of affections. She tends to be an independent cat and can adapt quite well when she’s left alone.

 PURRFECTCAT11 photo PURRFECTCAT11_zpsd7cd5923.jpg

Generally, there are many complaints by the locals on the exorbitant charges of minimum RM18 for a two-hour session, which would be based on the accumulative cost of the food and beverages you have ordered. Just to be fair before I pass on any verdict, let’s study the other cat cafes’ charges in Malaysia as well as from overseas. In Kuala Lumpur, the “Country Cat Café” is charging RM14.90 per person per hour inclusive of one drink. In Japan first cat café, “Cat Store @ Neko no Mise”, is charging RM5 (USD1.50) for every 10 minutes, meaning RM30 (USD9) an hour and they do have a special three-hour plan for RM72 (USD21.50). In Korea such as in the “Cat Attic” in Gangnam, no entrance fee or minimum hours limitations but you have to purchase at least one RM19 (USD6) worth of drink. Most patrons would spend around 1-2 hours of their time there. In Singapore, there’s also the entrance fee of SGD14 (about RM36) plus a drink but unlimited time frame. So, you see, Purrfect Cat Café is not overcharging exorbitant fees compared to the rest of the same themed cafés throughout the world. Much like renting a pet, people do need to pay a surcharge to spend time with the cats and rules may vary from cafe to café. After all, such cat cafes would need to find ways to survive with the high cost of maintenance, especially when most of their cats are pedigrees. A true animal lover would understand this well. On top of that, it’s also a way to keep away cheapskates and curious visitors, thus to avoid unwanted attention, distraction and stress towards the welfare of the cats.

However, it would be great if Purrfect Cat Café would have an hourly rate instead or maybe a minimum purchase of a drink. This would generate more turnovers and at the same time would cut down with the unnecessary overcrowded situations resulting in the lack of sitting spaces. Sadly, this also means that regulars such as yours truly would have to spend more by the hours. I do hope they have special memberships for regulars in the near future too. Overall, I love the café a lot but it won’t do much good to my pockets if I were to visit those cute cats in a long run.

Purrfect Cat Café is located just 2 shop houses away from the Camera Museum along Lebuh Muntri. Finding a parking space along the narrow heritage stretch of road can be rather painstaking. The most practical way to get to the café would be by parking your car opposite the Cititel car park (Jalan Penang/Lebuh Muntri corner), along Leith Street or along Lorong Love (next to the St. Xavier’s Institution) and go by foot towards the café. Please remember to buy your parking coupons or you would be slapped with a parking fine.

PENANG CAT MURALS & CAT SCULPTURES TRAIL

"101 Lost Kittens" is a street art project leading by Thailand artist, Natthapon Muangkliang, Malaysian artist Louise Low and Tang Yeok Khang. The project is not only to create new spots of interest in George Town but also to create awareness towards stray animals. There are 13 latest street art spots with a total count of "101 lost kittens" to George Town! In fact, there's the 14th spot where Tang Yeok Khang did his friend, a bicycle rental owner, a favor by drawing the 102nd kitten. Presently, there's the 103rd kitten as well, another compliment artwork by the artist for a beverage stall. Before the wall murals and sculptures get worn out through wear and tear from our tropical weather, it would be great for you to hunt down the "hot spots" soonest possible. I had prepared an easy to follow trail map to guide you through all the beautiful artwork. Some of those art pieces would be hidden in back alleys as indicated in pink in the map (click the map below to download for a clearer view). Good Luck hunting guys~ :)

Anyway, here the history on Skippy, the inspiration of the giant cat mural nearby Lebuh Victoria for the "101 Lost Kittens" project for the George Town Festival 2013! Skippy is now residing in Bon Ton Resort, Langkawi, Kedah and she's quite an actress! She would charm the guests and made them believe that she's theirs. So typical of my 5 cats in the house as well. LOL!

GREAT TO BE HOME FOR MUMMY’S BIRTHDAY

Finally, Jayson get to come home after four days at the vet’s clinic. Though he almost has his full energy back, the swollen in his mouth still need some time to recover with strict medications. Boy… Am I glad that he could eat like a horse now, having the appetite to savor 4 cats’ share of food in one go. Welcome home Jayson~ Best of health always~ :)

 JAYSONHOME0313 photo JAYSONHOME0313_zps11ccbfe2.jpg

By the way, Mama Jessica celebrated her 6th Birthday on 21 March 2013, the day I brought Jayson home. She had a blast with lots of food and affections from everyone in the family, inclusive her Daddy Jr. whom also celebrated his birthday on the same day. However, there was a gate crasher, the new brat in the family, persistently wanted to get a bite on the cake before Mama Jess could dig in. Haha!

MAMAJESSICABDAY2013 photo MUMMYJESSICA6BIRTHDAY_zps8f202edb.jpg

Just in case some of you might not be aware of, the little new brat in the J Family Kitties named Jordan L. was rescued from a high trafficked back alley on 14 January 2013. He was about 5 weeks old then, thus giving him a new birth date on 8 December 2012.

  photo JORDAN01_zpsb9a33129.jpg

This young boy has grown quite handsomely to what he is today~ Chubby, Photogenic, Adorable, Affectionate & a bit too playful now… LOL!

AN ORDEAL ALL OVER AGAIN FOR JAYSON

Jayson had to go back to his most dreaded place again – The Vet. After nursing him back to great health and chubby look, he had to get himself all wounded up again to be sent back to the vet. After all, he’s the main man in the J Family Kitties to protect the others from external harm from intruders. But things got worst. He was in a bad shape with all wounds and a serious mouth infection that stopped him from taking anything. Thus, I had to rush him for emergency treatments on a Sunday where most vets were closed for business. How unfortunate all my kitties always chose a weird time to get sick. Even my regular vet was off due to the unavailability of electricity due to road works. Compared to when Jayson was hard hit by FLUTD 5 months back, his condition was even worst with serious dehydration. He was beyond recognition as a house cat!

 JAYSONSICK01 photo JAYSONSICKNESS_zpsa6f9e472.jpg

The worst scenario was I was without a car since my near death experience in an unpredicted car accident on 20.12.2012 last year. I had to rely on my friend to take me for vet hunting. Fortunately, we found one new clinic that was open on a Sunday. I thought Jayson was in good hands but I now regretted my actions. My conscience was to admit him so that he could get well even it was a totally new place for him and me. However, somehow I felt some weird uneasiness being there. Walking into the vet was like walking into a chiller filled with dead meat. The whole environment was cold, even the vet was cold. This is the first time I walked into any animal clinic that I could not feel the warmth, compassion, commitment and responsibility from the people down there. At least, I felt more at peace at a graveyard than being there. I was not wrong. Things turned out all wrong.

JAYSONSICK02 photo JAYSONSICKNESS2_zpsa9f7cba0.jpg

If I were to be at my family vet’s clinic, the first thing I would have gotten would be the sharp screams from my vet, “Where’s my Frontline? I need to get rid of those pesky fleas before they infect all my animals here!” Here at this new clinic (Peng Aun, Jalan Gottlieb Branch, Penang), I had no responses at all. The first thing the vet did was to shave off the fur on Jayson’s hand and without any alcohol and disinfectants, he straightaway poked the needle into his hand to put him on drip. Gosh! What was in the mind of the vet while doing this as he could have injected germs into Jayson? That could be quite fatal since Jayson was all so weak. Moreover, before I could ask more questions, he was already handling another client. So unprofessional!

How could I have peace in mind when I get this type of question from a so called qualified vet when I admitted Jayson?

Vet: What's his name?
Me: Jayson
Vet: How long has he been in this condition?
Me: 2-3 days
Vet: Is he a male or a female?
Me: @_@'''''
***thinking in my head*** "Can't you see his two big balls?"

However, even with the lack of confidence, I had to leave Jayson there for the night as it would be the best thing to do since he was so dehydrated and so weak without any solid food in his tummy. I went back to visit Jayson early this afternoon on a motorcycle since I was not feeling all too well to wake up too early in the morning.

Me: How's my cat doing today?
Vet: Who?
Me: Jayson... The one with dehydration and swollen mouth. Is his mouth any better?
***Come on, only 3 cats in the boarding room and you can’t recognize me?***
Vet: Oh! He's off the drip but he's not eating. What should I do?
Me: Huh?
***thinking in my head*** "What the hell I came here for with such an expensive boarding and treatment charges and you ask me what I should do? Isn't that the job of a vet? Hummph~"

That statement tickled my anger but I stopped myself from showing any anger and gave him a false smile saying that I would be back later. I had to wait for my god-bro to be home so that I could borrow his car. Without thinking any further, I drove straight to the clinic and discharged Jayson. Again I felt the chillness in the clinic. Could you imagine that I have to service myself to go into the boarding room to get Jayson out? Jayson was so happy and straight hopped into his carrier. The bill was shocking! 24 hours without any food, one V-Buster collar, one bottle of drip, one injection for his swollen mouth and boarding could be equivalent to the price of a reasonable good quality hotel room. WTFish~ :( Just look at the condition of Jayson. He was even in worst condition than when I brought him in. I thought cleaning up a pet was also part of their job?

 photo JAYSONSICKNESS3_zps0d84beb0.jpg

Even with the lack of funds, I had to find ways to admit him into my family vet’s clinic. Upon visiting my vet, the first remark was, “WTFish! I’ve never seen any pet loving vet so ignorant to leave masking tapes on an animal’s hand after detaching the needle for the drip? Why was the blue raffia string so long? Jayson could have gotten restless and hanged himself.” My family vet has always been very professional in handling all my pets. She would run a blood test to find out more on Jayson’s condition as she would like to make sure that Jayson would not be suffering from any other ailments on top of what appeared to be a serious case of gingivitis. Now I can have a good rest, knowing that Jayson would be under the care of perfect hands. Let’s pray that things would work out better for me and Jayson.

I HAVE A WEAK BLADDER

Jayson went back  to the vet again for more medications today. His leakage was still there though it had reduced quite a bit. Not sterilizing the house every hour seemed quite impossible for me daily. His leaks are still scattering everywhere he had parked himself. Well, according to the vets, it will take some time for the bladder to strengthen itself. More supplements, antibiotics and bladder inflammation pills had been given to him this time. It's indeed more stressful time for me to have to force feed him with all the pills. However, the vet's two super sized cats, Samson and Simba, did put a smile on my face. Gosh! I think that was exactly what they were talking through their actions. Their expressions were so real~ :)

IT GONNA BE ANOTHER HECTIC WEEK

Jayson has not stopped dripping all over the place and nothing I could do to make things better as the vet had said that it was due to his medications. One of the medications given was to relax his bladder to enable it to function better in the future. Well, it's real tough for me to clean up practically any hour of the day when he's awake and walking all over the house. In fact, it was also a frequent change of "bed sheets" for him as he alone would sleep on 4 different beds and having him soak in his urine was not a good idea either. Sweat~ I hope today would be better as yesterday was his last course on that medication. Less cleaning for me... I hope. His condition had improved a lot as his consumption of food and water now were super crazy. He's now the scavenger of the J Family Kitties, salvaging all the leftovers from the bowls of others. In no time, he'll be the next "Garfield" in the family.

JAYSONHOME05

Anyway, I'll be lying low for some time due to some personal family matters. I hope to be able to update on Jayson's conditions in due course. My Mum suddenly came down with UTI issues yesterday. Argh! I really hate that UTI. Luckily, an urgent SOS medication helped her soothe the discomfort. On the other hand my Dad is scheduled for an eye operation later today. It's going to be a hectic week for me, shuttling from house to house, taking care of the kitties, especially Jayson's remaining medications, getting ready with all the meals needed as well as getting all my work backlogs done. Phew! All the best Criz~ Sweat~

MY PIPE IS STILL DRIPPING

When I thought having Jayson home earlier, he would be in great hands without worrying more about outside threats. Well, he's for sure at peace, recuperating himself all along indoor. However, I'm the one still having that stress. Wherever Jayson would sit, there would surely be a pool of urine. He's still dripping beyond his control. I felt pity to cage him up as he should be free from that bad "caged" experiences. Unfortunately, I have to wipe clean my floor, mop and sanitize the whole house for the 12th time today. Since today is Sunday, he'll be sent back to the vet's tomorrow for another check up. Not only was his "pipe" oozing out urine regularly, both his hands were swollen from the IV tube insertions. Poor boy~ He's not going to like it at all.

HOME IN MY WARM BED AT LAST

Jayson finally got "kicked out" from the vet's about 2 hours ago. It was the worst cat case experiences in their service years. Sweat~ Well, to make matters worse, 2 out of 3 persons who tried to handle him during medication time today were injured. One with a deep scratch on the thumb and another with a deep bite on the finger. I guess we should send them some healing purrs for a speedy recovery although their treatments  might have been added into the high medical bill. Hmmm... I wonder. What amazed me was how tame he was to let me bathe his super stinky body without even screaming for help. He just stood there quietly to let me scrub his whole body without any fuss... while giving me that cosmic eyes of gratitude. It was a touching sight.

JAYSONHOME01

Eventually after the warm bath, he immediately dried himself off and straight went into his clean warm basket for a nice rest. His trauma was over at last and now he can sleep soundly without any disturbances from the barking dogs in the darkness.

JAYSONHOME02

It was a horrifying experience for Jayson during these 5 days at the vet's. Now he can just laze himself anywhere he wanted without worrying about being "tortured". It was hell indeed for him (so were the vets) but he was given the second chance to live on. Let's hope he'll make the best out of his life by being the wonderful cat I have in the family.

JAYSONHOME03

Thank you everyone for your support, well wishes and prayers during my stressful period. It helps... Jayson is now healthily alive. :)

JAYSON IS NOT MAKING OUR LIVES EASIER

Another day at the vet's showed havoc. Jayson desperately wanted to go home. This was the second time in a row that he diligently opened his wire cage to try to escape from the vet's place. Luckily the vets were not idiots either. They left his cage in a bigger aluminum cage house. However, he added another item in my vet bill today... a badly punctured IV tube to free himself. Yesterday, he pulled out the inserted catheter and needed to go through the whole operation procedure again to insert it back and today this new addition. What else is he planning to add in the bill next? Grrr... I just wonder how I could calm him down to finish off the treatment so that he could come home faster. Anyway, after a good wash up today, he managed to get some food into his stomach. Phew~ at least he was willing to eat some of the food i brought in yesterday. If everything would go well later without more havoc from him biting anything else, the vets would allow me to bring him home after he finishes a new bag of drip tomorrow. They said that his stress won't help him much over there and I would also think so.

THE VIOLENCE NEVER ENDS

Another visit to the vet this morning was not a pleasant one too. I brought Jayson's favorite food along to try to convince him to eat was not fruitful. All he did was to have a sniff. That's all! Haiz~ His temper was up to the max. He got violent even with me around to calm him down. I just don't understand how could a quiet and violent-free boy of mine could have ended up this way. I guessed it could be the trauma he had for being so seriously sick and admitted at the vet's for the first time. Whoever got near him has to be real careful of having their hands too near him.

 JAYSONVET05

What I hated most was his swiftness. Before I could warn the vets that there was a danger of him biting off the catheter, he pulled the whole 6" tube out from his "ahem" within second! Gosh! Let's hope he would not require that in him again or there would be a second operation charges for sedating him and inserting back the tube. Bad Jayson! He's not helping me here at all with a tight budget. Moreover, I just gave the vet a call and he's still not eating anything yet. :( It could also be due to some signs of inflammation in his mouth. Luckily all his medications are done by injections. If not I would have expected more scars on the vets and helpers. I do hope to hear more news from the vets this evening.

JAYSONVET06

I'm actually in a very solemn mood now as I just found out this evening that my jointly adopted and handicapped cat, Panther, had gone over the rainbow bridge barely 12 hours after Jimmy's sudden death. After numerous visits to a few vets for second opinions, he died in the arms of my very supportive friend after being hard hit by a seizure from the old nerves related complications. I guessed my friend, even in sorrow, had to keep this news from me for putting me into more emotional stresses. I'm going to miss that chubby furry ball now. Rest in peace Panther... we gonna miss that cuteness in your face now.

I WILL BITE YOU IF YOU COME NEAR ME

A visit to the vet today shocked me! I can't recognize Jayson much as he was in a totally worn out and dirty stage. He got rather agitated with the vets and they almost got themselves wounded. He refused to be touched. He refused to be cleaned up and worst of all, he refused to eat. Even I could not convince him to put something into his empty stomach. Luckily, he was on drip or he won't have withstood the hunger for so many days. I just don't understand what could gone wrong with his temper. It was as if he were another cat in the wild. He wasn't that wild in actions before. Moreover, he smelled like someone bathe him in a sewage tank! Gosh! Let's hope he calm down and get cleaned up as he would be hospitalized for another 5 days or more. Ka-ching~ Ka-ching~ Sweat~

At least, his kidneys and bladder are performing better now with the visible endless streams of urine. I really hated seeing this familiar catheter procedure in him. I can see the pain he had in his eyes. Haiz~ What a suffering! :(

Janice also paid a visit to see how his brother was getting on. Well, she sure don't like the smell at the vet's. However, Jayson indeed felt a bit more at ease now having his sister around. His mood did switch to a brighter side but that did not make him want to eat too. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow for better news.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE PLUGGED

Another confirmed case of FLUTD~ Grrrr~ Luckily I spotted the problem fast or I would be hard hit by another heartache moment. These bad luck streaks are beginning to get into my nerves. Even planning to take him to the vet at the earliest possible time was tough as my car had decided to "die" on me this morning. Jayson's visit to the vet was delayed by 2 hours after the mechanic came to fix the problem. He only got to visit the vet at 10.30am. At least now Jayson is safely in the hands of the caring vets. By now, he would have gone through the operation procedures of inserting a catheter into his "ahem". Let's hope the vets are successful in draining out all the toxic in his bladder and get him back in top shape. I also hope he would get something into that hungry tummy of his as he has not been eating since dinner last night. I'm still waiting for the call from the vets now with good news that he has passed the critical level. I'll be praying real hard these few days for his speedy recovery. I can't afford to lose another cat as these 2 weeks has been real stressful to me...

UPDATE 6.15pm: The vets managed to flush out Jayson's urine from his bladder. The test results on the urine was not really good but at a safe level. Lucky I got him there fast. He has some crystal build-ups as well as traces of blood in it. Moreover, both his kidneys had swollen up. He's now on drip with the necessary antibiotics to speed up his recovery, some pain killers and some B Complex to boost his appetite. I hope I can see him the first thing in the morning looking better... Still praying that he won't have to suffer so much pain~

NOT THE LAST MALE IN MY J FAMILY KITTIES PLEASE

It has been a devastating few weeks with Johann stolen and Jimmy's passing away and now this? Why has God been so harsh on me again? Is He trying to wipe out the last male in my loving furry family? When I thought Jayson was behaving weird screaming nightly since the night of Jimmy's wake but I might be wrong. The scary "F" word was slowly lurking into the lives of the J Family Kitties again. The familiar "standing" pose was back! Can't the veterinary world find a solution to these FLUTD issues once and for all? It hurts me a lot having to see Jayson going through this process again. I need peace... I need help... I need lots of prayers to release me from this insanity that had hard hit me recently...

TOUCHING MOMENTS AT THE WAKE

It has been a week since Jimmy had gone away from my life and it still hurt a lot. Tonight right on the dot at 11.01pm, I had a wake where he took his last breath. It was a touching moment seeing all the J Family Kitties, namely Mama Jessica, Janice and Jayson, bowing down in respect for the last time. My tears almost wet my shirt. Of course, I had to make his favorite chicken dishes, Chicken Pie and Fried Chicken Wings. I'm beginning to miss his cries, "Daddy, please give me more chicken please." It's something that I have to endure in silence for years to come. Although the trio got restless after the wake with nonstop of cries, the house got super quiet now.

I missed that pair of eyes now...

JIMMYRIP

Though he has gone, I can still feel his presence yet so near…
He was everything that assembled how I feel, I see and I hear…
Now that his spirit is free from any suffering on any physical part…
It would now be the best for him to remain alive forever in my heart…

I GOT OWNED BY JOHANN

Oh no~ Not again! This time I got owned by the latest addition to the J Family Kitties. He’s around 8 months old. He’s Johann which carries the meaning of “God's gracious gift”. He’s a gem indeed with an obedient characteristic just like my deceased Jeremy.

 JOHANN01

Ever since the passing away of Jerry, the “capnapped” of Jose and the relocation of Jiro from the former adoptions of the SP Kitties, I have decided to stop adopting anymore. The recent two cases of Jimmy’s critical emergencies had already strained my budget to the max. Another kitten in the household would have caused more injuries. If not for the pleas from a poor Indian family due to his safety in a neighborhood full of temperamental stray dogs, I would not have taken him in. Poor fella~ Did I get hypnotized by his charisma? I won’t know for sure~ LOL!

 JOHANN02

At first glance, Johann looks real clean and fluffy but little did the Indian family know that he has traumatic bad scars due to some dog bites. The sight of his injuries hurt me. I really need to get him to the vet for immediate attention as there were many deep wounds on his tummy. It could turn septic any moment now.

 JOHANN03

Now I’m Johann’s new slave~ Haha~ He can be real demanding you know? But I love him! Friendly, adorable, cute, attentive, polite, etc are some words I can describe on him after just a few hours of our relationship. :)

 JOHANN04

He really felt the comfort and safety in my home now. Within less than 2 hours, he was already claiming my lazy chair. Now where can I get a little siesta when I’m still not fully recovered from my flu? Sweat~

 JOHANN05

His one action made me very happy. I don’t have to toilet train him as he found the sand box all by himself and did all his “businesses” there. He’s real smart right? I won’t mind pampering him more but there’s one condition. Let’s hope he won’t act as if he owned me always~ LOL!
