GOODBYE JASPER

I always have the phobia when December is nearing. It's always the worst month in my life having the cruel blow of losing so many cats. Firstly, it was Jordan, who was having a long bout of epilepsy cases, missing and was never found since earlier this month. Now it's Jasper's turn to be in the hands of God~ We were still enjoying our roasted chicken on Christmas Eve and today he's gone... just like that. No signs of illness... He just fell weak and tired this morning and by 3.30pm... He left us in tears and sorrow... It's another sad day in December 2014 for everyone here including the J Family Kitties.. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.. We'll meet again at the Rainbow Bridge... Goodbye Jasper L... my beloved "Pikachu"~

A Tribute To My Best Friend & Family - Jasper L.

I remember how you sunbathe on that specific spot...
That's where you always lie down and gave me that handsome little smile...
Now it's all so quiet with you no more...
No more echo from your voice along the road...
No more of you running towards me each time I came back home...
It's now filled with emptiness out there and inside my heart...
Though you were with me for not too long...
I'll always treasure those great memories...
Goodbye my friend... my great companion...
Til we meet above again...

A PRAYER ANSWERED

"Hooray! I have finally found a place I can call home!" That would be the first thing that you would see in Joe Boy the minute he touched down on a new land. I felt really happy to find him a new home ever since he came knocking at my door more than two weeks' back, looking thin, hungry and heavily wounded. At least I managed to nurse the wounds and get him back to the weight he was supposed to have (who won't at the rate he has been pampered with readily available food 24 hours a day and endless supply of energized water?? LOL!).

Anyway, the adopter was a 14 year old, a compassionate girl, who had lost her cat (almost identical to Joe Boy)a year ago. She was so kind enough to recruit another new member into her family of seven (3 non-furry :P). Thanks Elaine. :) Let's have some time browsing through Joe Boy's joyous moments.

I would also like to wish my old friend and cat savior, ML Sherwood, a JOYOUS & HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You are one strong and compassionate lady that the world would want to have forever. :) I'm just carrying on with your mission of giving the best to any cats in the world... :)

THE LIFE OF A STRAY - JOE BOY

What is life when you have grown up to be a handsome cat but you were left to fend for yourself in a concrete jungle? Joe Boy as I had named him came into my life recently. Initially, I thought someone lost a homely cat within my apartment maze but Joe Boy seemed to be once too frequent to drop by my door step seeking food and clean water.

JOE01

Abandoned? That was the next thing that came into my mind. How could someone do that to this poor cat? He's too neat and well groomed to be a feral except for the few minor wounds he had on his body. I presumed they were the results of cat fights. Let's hope he would not get more injuries from the guys in the J Family as there have been signs of wars when I'm not in sight.

I guessed Joe Boy has been real lucky to find me for shelter but I have one problem here. There are regulations that we were not to have pets in an apartment and I have already broken the rules to have 5 J Kitties here. Moreover, no one has claimed him from the "Lost & Found" notice that I had put up. Let's pray that someone would love him and provide him with a good forever home soon as I also do not have the extra budget to adopt another stray into the family.

Joe Boy is a handsome, cute, affectionate and friendly cat. These shots clearly show what exactly was in his mind.

I COULD BE SUCH A CAT MAGNET

I’m sure that some of you might realize that I have been rather busy and been travelling quite often out the state just to grab whatever job available just to make ends meet. The kitties indeed needed more for their diet since all of them are way past their adulthood. During most of the trips, I would meet up with many new friends, four legged and furry mostly. :P Somehow, I think I have the cat features in me (Is it?? Hmm… LOL!) that seemed to attract those animals to come straight to me, even without me calling them most of the time. The latest being about 55km away from my home state in a remote country side where population was rather low without much entertainment of course.

TAIPINGCAT01

Most of the time, it would be just a stray or two coming forward to seek food but this occasion ought to get more attention as not only did this little cutie came climbing all over me asking for some attention, she brought the whole family along to beg for food. I just could not believe my eyes with the action of the 8 month old stray kitten. She climbed up my shoe with the pathetic look asking for food surrounded by her old daddy, partially blind mummy and a 2-month old baby brother. This is something I do not get to experience often. Who could resist such a cutie’s request?

TAIPINGCAT02

Although I was the talk of the town that evening due to my spontaneous action in feeding the poor strays, I just went ahead to do what an animal lover would do – feed them. The chef indeed was a bit pissed off with my action (as what most chefs would be if they knew I was to do that with their food. :P) but eventually he just gave me a faint smile without cursing any further. That’s what humans should be… having a bit of compassion towards the needy animals sure won’t hurt a bit.

PHOTO HUNTERS – IN MEMORY

photohunters

This week’s theme is IN MEMORY.
I thought I would want to skip this theme
as I could be quite emotional with the recent
few bad happenings in my life…
but I would want to dedicate this post
IN MEMORY of my loyal stray cat, Mimi.
She was gone along with her 2 months’ old kitten
in a freak car accident while crossing the road…
I missed her breakfast call each morning…

INMEMORY01

There were also a few more strays that I had helped
on some limited funds I had months ago…
but their fate and destiny were not within my control…
IN MEMORY of some of the greatest kittens
that had left some smiles in my life…

SOME THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

Taking some time off from the blogging world can sometimes be quite relaxing after so much of pressures I had when I had to ensure the health of all the J Family Kitties. Although I could not get far away from home as the kitties still needed me to be around, a stroll down a little sanctuary was so refreshing. The fresh air in the natural habitat, the chipping of birds, the movements of all the little critters within the environment was so inspirational.

I had never felt so content in life; being aware of the little blessings I had, knowing so many great and kindhearted people around the globe. But would that be enough? No, I do not think so. I’m still greedy… greedy to get more people to shower some of their love towards those little blessings that the world had ignored. I would love to see this become a reality and together we should make it happen. Have some thoughts about this…

CATS ON TUESDAY – I SENSED

CATSTUESDAYLOGO144
The link above is where cat lovers all over the world gathered and share their updates on their pets on every Tuesday. Feel free to drop in if you are a cat lover.

Although I’m still feeling easily exhausted now after more than a month of taking care of my sick babies; I still did not forgo my duty to get as many strays healthy and well fed. Recently, I revisited Panther look-alike which I had paid my friend to get him all sewn up a few weeks ago and his gang of friends in the nearby park. To my surprise, all of them had grown up so fast. Someone must have fed them well during my absence. Thank goodness! The first moment I stepped into the park, I saw a glow in the nearby bushes giving me that beautiful smile and with an angelic face. He has grown up to be cuter than I had expected.

ISENSED01

Barely knowing these strays for a few weeks, they tend to avoid me. But immediately when I brought out the chunks of KFC I had reserved for them, you can practically hear the endless sound of purring in the ears. Gosh! They sure have a great sense of scent.

ISENSED02

Knowing that Blackie (the brutally abused stray which I had saved earlier) should not be taking the fatty KFC, I managed to get 3 fresh fish from an angler by the beach. He was purring and running all around me when he smelled the presence of fresh fish. He was lucky to have found me and his “bloody exposed skull wound” had miraculously healed up rather fast. In a month or two, those badly scarred areas would have been fully healed and he would have been back to normal. At the moment when he was happily chomping and chewing the fishes, I felt so contented with life. Aren’t Blackie so lucky? Let’s hope there won’t such cruelty in the future as I just could not bear watching all those poor creatures suffer in the name of inhumanity anymore.

PHOTO HUNTERS – SCARY

photohunters

This week’s theme is on SCARY.
It was definitely a SCARY and stressful period for me
during the past few weeks with so many of
the J Family Kitties falling sick at the same time.
I’m not going to repeat all those SCARY moments
I had to deal with weird illness, vomit, vet bills, etc.
Instead… just look at what Jeremy had to say…

A SIBERIAN HUSKY IN MY GARDEN?

I think the heat from the recent weather might have gotten right into my brain and blurred my vision. I saw something white with grey fur wandering in my neighborhood garden. I thought it was a baby Siberian Husky until I got near to it. He was amazingly clean and handsome. I wondered if anybody owned this kitten as he was rather friendly.

HUSKY01

As usual, I would carry some biscuits with me whenever I go out for an evening stroll. True enough, he came rushing towards me at the first scent of those yummy tuna kitten biscuits. He even allowed me to pat his back. After finishing his food, he went to the grass to clean himself up. I noticed a kind of weird stare from him. Is this what he has in his mind?

ALL IN A FAMILY

Speaking of sanctuary, I was in one for the second time today upon recommendation by a friend to seek treatment for my acute back pain. This is truly a peaceful place to be, not only for animals but humans as well. The whole place was full of wild plants, insects and birds of all shape and sizes. Of course, there would be the woofies and kitties too. I met up with an elder woman. She was as compassionate as I am. Living alone in a little house within the compound of the sanctuary, she has also helped feed those hungry strays around her.

She was telling me how hard it was to get someone to adopt those stray cats that have been lurking around her house. I agreed. In fact, both of us had the same thinking of not letting those poor souls ended up in an animal shelter for fear that they might be “ahem ahem” when things got worst. She showed me around in her fragile pairs of legs as she felled down barely few days ago. Both of us were there to seek treatment for the chiropractor there. To my surprise, those kittens were extremely cute. I almost took them home but I already have NINE at home. I was sure those brats would have created some havocs at home while I was there. They did… as usual. LOL! Anyway, just to share with you some photos of the family. By the way, I have the habit of carry a small pack of cat food with me always. :P

Well, don’t you feel like taking them home now? Somehow, something in them caught my attention immediately. It’s not their curiosity. It’s not their cuteness but their little gesture of wanting more love from us. Isn’t that what every single kitty would want from us forever?

NIGHT STALKERS

NITESTALKERS01

After a few days of lying down and out from the blogging world, I had decided to get out from my house for some fresh air. It was eerily quiet in the neighborhood. There were no moving vehicles nor was there any noise from the kids around the area. I did not know what made me took out my camera at 1am in the morning but somehow I realized that it had become one of the parts of my body. Maybe I was curious… curious to find out who has been eating the food I left outside in my porch area every night. I know for sure that two of them would be Mimi and her mother Mama.

NITESTALKERS02

Suddenly, I caught sight of another stalker sitting right in the middle of the road. From the look from behind, she looked like she’s pregnant, which I think she was. Before I could see who she was, she moved under a car. I managed to take shot of her evenly colored fur. She was such a beauty.

NITESTALKERS03

After taking a few shots of her, she turned around and gave me a tongue out stare. I almost fell down from the fright. OMG! What a sight! Did you see what I saw?

NITESTALKERS04

I would not have thought that I would see another badly handicapped cat in my neighborhood and there she was right in front of me. I thought when I had helped Alpha (Mimi’s brother), he would be the last one. At least his lips were within help. Now how could I help one without a mouth? My heart just sank… I had enough of chest pain for the last few days and now it had just got worst. Oh God! Please spare these cats from more harm… please…

OH MY! OH MY!

ARFARF06

It really looked like my place is fast becoming a sanctuary for all the strays. I hope I won’t land myself into many problems as I did overhear some of my neighbors complaining about the “bombs” all over the place. Although my kitties are all the time indoor, there were times some weird and unaccounted for animals would drop by for a visit even during the crazy hours of the morning, including bats. Some even came with “gifts” to show that they have visited the place. At times, you will see those “gifts” all over the middle of the road, right in front of my neighbor’s house or on top of all the cars (damn fruit bats!).

With all those unforeseen incidents, I occasionally have to buy or cook something to bring over to my neighbors just to keep the relationships well. That’s part and parcel of being an animal lover amongst those non-animal lovers. Well, I had another one yesterday which kept me busy from doing anything else as he was really in need of urgent attention… but I did what I could to ease his sorrow…

ARFARF02

Gosh! I was still looking at the signs on my wall. Does that include feeding a puppy as well? This puppy is a total stranger to me as I have not seen him around this neighborhood. What wonders me is that how does he know how to come right up to my doorstep to ask for food? The worst thing is that his whole body was covered with skin diseases. How could anyone ignore such a cute little puppy?

ARFARF03

ARFARF04

Luckily, I heard the kitties hissed loudly at him or else he would have gone away without me knowing about how bad his conditions were. He was in luck too as I have some doggy biscuits left in the house for the other stray puppies behind my house. When I approached him, he tried to run away but I managed to put out some biscuits for him to eat. He finished every bit of the food. How I wished he could have a better life instead of wandering all over the streets hunting for a home…

ARFARF05

With all the hissing while he was eating, I don’t think the J Kitties would have accepted him well. Even Mama Jessica was hiding under the car peeping at what he was doing. I just hope there will be more caring people around here. Haiz… I wished…
