BRAVING THROUGH 2008

(A lengthy but worth reading post on the J Family Kitties)

It all started with a pair of brother and sister, Papa Jonathan and Mama Jessica, both were born on 21 March 2007 along the street of my neighborhood. Subsequently, the pair followed me home on the night of 9 June 2007 and remained in the comfort of their forever home until today. Here they were eating and sleeping well… until an incident changed their lives seven months later…

On 23 February 2008, the day of Janice was adopted by my friend (subsequently returned three days later for not being too litter smart… LOL!), a furry flea stricken kitten was thrown right at my door step. I took pity on the kitten and added him into the J Family. That was Jeremy then…

Another unexpected incident happened on 15 April 2008. Mama Jessica decided to ignore her nursing duties and went missing for 4 days when I was extremely ill. I thought it was just a getaway for taking care of the triplets so hard. The situation appeared differently after THREE MONTHS. On 22 June 2008… I had the twins, Jimmy and Joey.

When I thought EIGHT would be enough in the J Family, another unexpected stray came knocking on my door for food as early as 18 August 2008. She eventually did not go away as the many that had visited within 2008 and claimed my house as hers. That’s Jolyn… the 9th and latest member of the J Family Kitties…

I hope the number will stop here as there could be another health disaster as Janice getting weird “horns” and the rest getting sick all at the same time. Although I still did received many uncalled for visits throughout the month of December, I had decided to put on hold any other adoptions for 2009 until I had settled the remaining of their outstanding medical bills. Geez! That few weeks old stray kitten has fur like Jeremy… Oops… STOP THINKING DADDY CRIZ!!

Anyway, it has been a great 2008 for the J Family Kitties. Without all the love, support and prayers given by you, they won’t be here to amuse you more. Thank you everybody for showing so much support and compassion towards the kitties.

Happy New Year and may 2009 and years ahead bring you more love, happiness, wealth and health!

Signing off for 2008,
Criz & the J Family Kitties.

AN ORDEAL NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN

I’m glad to be home now. It had been a harsh month in my life. I thought it would be the last day for me to see the light on earth. Pain became fear and fear came depress... I lost HOPE! Day by day, I slipped further away from the hope to live on. But, miracle came knocking at the door at the right moment. Little spark by spark of love and support rejuvenated my hope to stay on. I should not have ended my journey that way but to be strong in believing that there would always be LOVE and HOPE surrounding me. I’m not alone all these while… but being surrounded by friends who cares about me and my family… Thus, I can never give up on HOPE! Well, I almost did…

Without your existence,
I would no longer be around today.
Without your love and encouragement,
I won’t have the courage to look up on HOPE.
Without your support and compassion,
I don’t think I could have pulled through.
Deep inside dwelled a silent whisper
Wanting to shout out… THANK YOU!

HOMECOMING QUEEN

HOMECOMING01

My sweet girl, Janice is finally home this morning after being “held captive” against her will for A MONTH. With all the health issues in the J Family, I didn’t even realize that time did pass by so fast. I have been very busy trying to settle some of the existing vet’s issues that I was totally knocked out towards the end of each day for the last few days. Luckily everyone were in the best of health now… well almost… with only Janice left to be treated for her mild ear wound from the last attack. Thank goodness! The health issues were finally over. Thanks to everyone who had chipped in to help out during these stressful moments. Gosh! It has been indeed an extremely tiring period for me.

The babies were very excited to have their sister back. The first moment Janice was brought into the house, Joey was the first to wish and snuggle with her sister. She really missed sleeping on her sister’s tummy all these weeks.

HOMECOMING02

Jimmy came up next and cuddled Janice as never before and gave her sister some licks to clean her up. It was such a touching moment seeing him doing that. It was like “Sis… I miss you. Can you please come and play with me now?”

HOMECOMING03

There’s one very obvious change on Janice that made me worried now. She has grown so fat with all the nutrients and vitamins she had at the vet that she had turned into a couch potato. Gosh! Have I got to serve her like a queen now? OMG! It looked like I’m going to be her slave for a long time to come. I hated that “Daddy, please do this and that and this and that” look in her eyes. But what can I say? She has been my jewel and most pampered cat in the family… Oops… favoritism! Haha!

HOMECOMING04

Today was indeed my happiest moment to get her home. It’s great to have everyone here back to being healthy, happy, playful and joyful moods again. Well, I did get a great present from Janice too. She really missed playing with me for so long in our own sanctuary that she forgot about being as lady like as she has always been. Who’s to complain to see her in such a cheerful mood now? I won’t…

HOMECOMING05

Note: To all those who had sent their well wishes as well as helping out during this period, I would like to say a big “THANK YOU!” Without you, the J Family Kitties would not have survived these ordeals. I would indeed repay whatever within my means at the present moment to help more kitties in need in the near future.

APPRECIATION TUESDAY

APPRECIATION

Dear Friends of the Cat Blogosphere,

Thank you so much for your comfort and well wishes during the bad times when I was sick and when Mama Jessica was found missing. I'm still recuperating from the bad flu although my high fever has already been under control. The flu bug has drained up all my energy to think and write properly, so you might be getting lots of craps and nonsense postings within the next few days. LOL!! Just pray that I won't go psycho then as I have just got deworming pills for all the J Family members and you guessed what I have been seeing for the last one day...yucks~~ I do not intend to photograph and show in here too :P

Anyway, as a gesture of appreciation, I have created a cute recognition logo for you. You can put it up on your blog and also award it to those furry friends out there whom you think deserved to get one too. You did touch my heart and I would like to say "Thank you!"

COMPASSION AWARD

I personally emailed quite a large number of people but since I cannot get hold of the emails of a few friends, can someone please forward this award to Grayson & Gandalf, Cheysuli & Gemini, JewelGirl, Alexi, Perfectly Parker, The St. Louis Meezers, Junior, PB & J, Samantha & Tigger, Sammawow, TT & Shadow & Molly, Karen Jo, Ruis, Debra of Manx Mnews, Mr Hendrix, Tiger Lily, Furry Paws and Opus & Roscoe.

Let's hope I did not miss out anybody important here. If I did, it could be the flu bug blocking my brains. LOL! Anyway, my sincere apologies and do pick up the award as you please. :P

Regards,
Criz Lai
