I have been rather busy for the past few days running around and by the end of the day getting myself over exhausted even to stare at the computer. But I guessed more of you would want to know what had been going on for the past few days, right? Let me gather all the happenings in one post instead of breaking it into many posts.
Janice has recovered rather well and has started to play with the rest of the rough brats. Unfortunately, I had to stop her from over exerting herself as she still has to care for her operation wound. I would have to bring her to the vet again to take off those stitches next week. The only problem I had now is to find a way to stop her from sleeping on my lap for hours. The last was more than 6 hours and “something” almost got injured there with her having wild dreams all the time. :P
Justin was having diarrhea on the day Janice went for the operation. I had to rush him to the vet for treatments later that day. He is fine now but his “ahem” was still watery. I hope he gets well soon by resting more instead of running in and out of the house playing. I had suspected that he has been chasing and chomping down unwanted pest in the house.
Jayson eventually caught the diarrhea bug yesterday morning. He has been purging nonstop ever since, although he also had the necessary medical attention as Justin. The vet must be smiling all the way at the rate I was bringing in the kitty one after another. Poor baby or should I say poor Daddy? I had been cleaning nonstop for the whole day from the living room, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, stairways, bedroom and porch practically ever hour right until I dozed off from exhaustion. I do not like the way he has been behaving now by the look of his weak body, running tears, wet tail and crying look. If things did not get better, I will have to admit him again for inspection.
Jimmy and Joey are both growing up fast. I could not believe that they were born barely 11 days ago. Someone actually told me that they look like hamsters with their calico colored furs. Are they calicos? I’m still not sure as Jimmy is 100% confirmed A MALE!<
Jeremy has never stopped amusing himself even the others were still sleeping. In the end, he had to find the company of Mama Jessica who was about to rest after feeding the twins. Boy! He sure has grown up a lot. His size is even larger than Mama Jessica and Papa Jonathan now. I was still wondering who could have thrown such a lovely mixed long-haired kitten at my house. It’s still a mystery. On the other hand, Mama Jessica has been rather busy taking care of the twins. I can see how tired she is taking care of the over demanding twins of hers.
Papa Jonathan has been practically out of the house most of the time sunbathing himself in my porch area. He has put on some weight but he will be getting some “lessons” after what he did to my poor sofa out there, not forgetting the holes on my motorbike seats, tires and the rooftop of a neighboring car, etc. Why won’t he use the scratch pole I had provided out there?<
Panther is getting fatter and healthier each day with the amount of nutritious cat food I have been providing him. Thanks to the people of CFHF, FOTCB and many more kind hearted friends out there for their assistances. The only restriction he has now is that he was only allowed to stroll outside the garage with strict supervisions from either of us. I hope I can get his own little sanctuary set up soonest possible after I had settled certain urgent matters within the J Family. Overall, I would say he had been overly pampered by me. I hope he can stay that way too as long as I’m still around. :)

BIRTH DATE ANALYSIS
The triplets, Janice, Jayson and Justin celebrated their 5th month birthday yesterday but Jeremy was kind of moody because he was picked up from the streets without me knowing when he was born. So, I threw the questions to the readers to decide on Jeremy’s birth date. Many proposed that he should celebrate together with the triplets but Katztales suggested that I should check through the CatScope. I was dumbfounded! The results were extremely accurate. So accurate that I need to read a few times just to confirm them.
However, Jeremy could never share the same birth date as the triplets on 4th January 2008 as a Capricorn kitty as his characteristics and behaviors are totally out in the horoscope. So the next possible date would be two weeks before which falls on 20th December 2007. He is a Sagittarius. The result again was so accurate. Gosh… now I have to remember additional 3 dates a year to celebrate with them. Haha! But due to the majority of the comments favoring that Jeremy should celebrate on the same day as the triplets, I guessed I have to made it so but he has to remain as a Sagittarius. :P
Here are the results that I had obtained for Papa Jonathan and Mama Jessica as well as Panther. Did the writer read straight from my mind or it was just coincidental? Please note all the highlighted red wordings and you will know the J Family members better.
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19)
BIRTHDAY KITTIES: JANICE, JAYSON, JUSTIN
More serious and deliberate than most, it's likely that the Capricorn cat will live to a ripe old age. Why? Well, for one, there's no risk-taking behavior going on with this kitty. The Capricorn feline will plod along, amusing itself by watching the other animals as they play to their heart's content. What keeps this creature happy is helping out and working hard. Need someone to attend to those pesky mice? The Cap cat will do it daily. Stable and serene, the Cap feline will appreciate a comfortable home and a happy family. These animals won't need much exercise, either -- for them, work is exercise! This is a cat that really loves to feel needed, so don't be reluctant to dole out those chores. Very self-controlled, the Cap kitty is easy to house-train and will know the importance of following the family rules. Self-reliant as well, this is a cat that will do just fine back home while Mom, Dad, and the kids take a family trip. While the Cap cat doesn't need much touch or love, it does like to be neat and clean, so brush them regularly. Watch their bones and teeth, too, as these areas may require special attention.
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21)
BIRTHDAY KITTY: JEREMY
Does your Sagittarius kitty seem to be having a good time all the time? That's because this is the happy-go-lucky cat of the zodiac, always playful and jumping around and letting their master know just how delighted they are to be in their home. Extremely energetic as well, this is a feline that would much rather be outdoors, climbing trees and catching birds. This is an animal that can't stand to be cooped up, so don't lock it in inside if at all possible. What the Sag cat excels at is being a scout. That trusty mouse-catcher? A Sag, for sure! Bring your Sag kitty with you while you're gardening or having a bbq, as they are sure to enhance the experience. As Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, be sure that your kitty has plenty of room to roam. These animals like to wander off and enjoy getting plenty of exercise while they're at it. That said, they will always remember that they're part of a family unit, so you needn't worry that they won't return from those nocturnal adventures. Finally, the Sag cat is great with kids, so expect a lot of cuddling!
ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 19)
BIRTHDAY KITTIES: JONATHAN & JESSICA
Ready for a workout? That's exactly what you'll get from your Aries kitty since this is the most energetic animal who is sure to keep you fit. The Aries feline will do whatever it wants and offer plenty of meowing. Not very good behavior, eh? Oh well, this cat is such a cutie that you're bound to overlook that lack of good manners. Friendly and sweet, your Aries kitty will be in heaven when company comes over, the better to show off its favorite tricks. This is also an assertive sign for a cat, and can be expected to protect your home (as much as that's possible)! While your Aries furball may appear a bit compulsive at times, it's only because they are so action-oriented and revel in a fun-filled day of play, so be sure to let them roam. Competitive, too, your Aries kittycat will want to be the king or queen of the neighborhood, jumping farther and faster just to show everyone how special they are. Keep showing this creature new games (hopefully with new toys!), and their love will be limitless. As Aries rules the head, eyes, and ears, be mindful of these areas on your favorite feline.
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21)
BIRTHDAY KITTY: PANTHER
You may need to pull back a bit after a stunt of yours goes awry and it may be pretty embarrassing! That's okay, though, because you can recover from almost anything and should be back in action soon. The lone ranger of the kitty kingdom has arrived! The Scorpio cat is more independent than most, but along with that self-sufficiency comes a strong-willed, almost stubborn demeanor. That said, this feline will be extremely loyal once comfortable in the family. Hey, that's true grit. Mysterious as well, the Scorpio kitty could wander off for days in search of adventure yet will always return. What pet would cross three states only to come back to its master in the end? Surely a Scorpio! The Scorpio cat is also emotional and intuitive and can easily sense when things aren't right. If their master is upset, they will surely stay close, the better to comfort you in their own way. Call them nosy? Well, maybe, as this is the kind of kitty that needs to know what's going on, whether it's family dynamics or the contents of the neighborhood garbage cans. Beware of what this feline might bring in the door! The Scorpio cat does things its own way. Simply put, this is one unfussy animal that just wants to find a place to call home.

PANTHER IS BACK HOME
This is one of the great news that many cats, kittens and beans are eagerly waiting for. Panther is back! I knew he would be fine but I was too exhausted from my recent trip to have the energy to check on him yesterday. After struggling to dig out the last penny from my ever tight pants to pay for his RMx,xxx.xx vet bills (please fill in the blanks and the winner shall get a kiss from Panther), I finally got him away from his “hell” where he was encaged for two weeks. He was glad to see me there and was busy rubbing himself against my legs.
Now this is the hardest decision that I have to make regarding Panther. He has to be returned to the mechanic as I do not think my J kitties would want to have him back at my home. His smell from my pants alone is making them berserk and they kept hissing at me. Moreover, I do not have the time to give him my fullest attention. I wanted to put Panther up for adoption but the mechanic pleaded to me that he will give Panther the best alternative area that will keep him safe from any more harm. I hope he will come up with the best solution soon. Since it was already quite late at 6.30pm, Panther has to be kept indoor for the time being. I will be discussing with him later tomorrow on what he will be planning to do.
Here are some photos and a video of Panther enjoying his freedom and of course some afternoon tea.
Back home with something nice and soft to munch. Afternoon tea anyone?

IT IS SO STINKY
To know more on what had happened to Panther and how he is progressing, you can read more in my earlier post “HIS LIFE COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER”, “PANTHER - THE CAT WITH THE FIGHTING SPIRIT”, “PURRS FROM PANTHER”, “SCARS OF A LIFETIME” and “INPUT BUT NO OUTPUT?”
LATEST UPDATE: 22/5/08 9.30AM
Ok… Here is a quick one before I go off in a few hours’ time and I have yet to pack all my things. Hehe… I had made an appointment with the vet at 8.00am to check on Panther. The vet greeted me with a mask on. “Congratulation! Panther made “it” but I have to wear this. Here’s yours.” I was confused as I had never worn a mask into his clinic before. OMG! Even with the mask on, I almost fainted when he opened the door. The whole room smelled like… errrr… Shit!
Panther did make “it” last night but it was all soft, sticky, mucus-like and of course super duper smelly. The vet told me that it was due to the liquid diet he was still taking in. He will be running further test on that and if something is not right, he will do a full scan again. I just nodded and told him to do whatever is necessary. After giving Panther a few strokes, I left. As usual, he would grab my hand, refusing to let me go.
Anyway, I’m running out of time here. I hope I won’t be caught stealing some catnaps in the 3-days 9am-11pm seminar. So, see you all early next week.
Psss… Please keep an eye on those brats for me. Make sure they behave well. I do not know what crazy things they will be doing inside here for the next few days. Thanks!

LATEST UPDATE: 21/5/08 10.40PM
Today was another busy day for me. I managed only to catch up with Panther at 4.30pm. He ate a lot today compared to yesterday but we have a problem here. So much food has gone into his tummy but nothing has come out yet. In fact, his tummy has bloated up a lot. The vet has tried many ways to make him poo but all we ever get was Panther polluting the room with his poisonous gas… Haha! The vet did check through his **ahem**. There was no injury at all. We were scratching our heads what else could be wrong with him. Haiz... it looked like he needed another X-ray tomorrow if things do not go as expected. Let’s hope he will do his “big” business tonight.
Well, I might not be able to give updates on Panther tomorrow as I would be on my way down to
In case I could not make it to provide updates, I have the J Family members to entertain you until I am back next week. Please give them some supports. If I have the spare time and internet access in KL, I will surely keep you all posted.

SCARS OF A LIFETIME
To know more on what had happened to Panther and his previous progresses, you can read more in my earlier post “HIS LIFE COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER”, “PANTHER - THE CAT WITH THE FIGHTING SPIRIT” and “PURRS FROM PANTHER”.
LATEST UPDATE: 20/5/08 7.00PM
Today has been a hectic day for me as I had many chores to do before my trip down to
As for food and water, he has been taking them right out from the saucer now and he ate a lot since this morning. The vet told me that he had urinated quite a few times but he is still waiting for him to do his “bigger” ones. Today, I sensed that Panther is feeling more energetic and happy. But deep inside, I still felt sadness seeing all his wounds and scars on his face. They are signs of a bitter life and suffering of a cat that did nothing wrong when he was first born into the world. I do not know how to describe my feelings but it surely hurts inside.
If you can look closer, you will also noticed that Panther’s right lower back tooth has to be taken away. It was chipped so badly that it showed the nerves inside and was causing him more pain. After all, based on the vet’s experience, it no longer has its uses. He can still use the other side to munch. The problem is that we do not have pet dental facilities over here. I am not complaining and as long as he can pull through this second life threatening trauma, I am happy. I purposely put my finger forward to let him give me his regular soft love bite to show you that he can still manage without the tooth.
I will check back with the vet tomorrow to leave you all more updates. Have a nice week ahead and thanks for everything! :)

PURRS FROM PANTHER
Gosh… I could not imagine that I dozed off so easily today. Luckily, it is a public holiday over here. After coming back from the vet at 5.30pm, I refreshed myself and wanted to write about Panther’s progress. Then, I thought 15 minutes of shut eyes would not be much of a problem but I overslept until now. Argghh! It’s almost midnight here. I guessed days of running around trying to check on Panther to ensure that he is fine might have tired me off.
For more on what had happened to Panther and his previous progresses, you can read more in my earlier post “HIS LIFE COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER” and “PANTHER - THE CAT WITH THE FIGHTING SPIRIT”.
LATEST UPDATE: 19/5/08 11.45PM
By the time I reached the clinic, it was around noon. This time I made sure that I wish the vet before moving in to check on Panther. It was so embarrassing that I forgot about that yesterday. :P
Panther is feeling better now and his temperature showed that it is just a bit higher than normal. Other than that, everything seemed fine. His surgery on the lips has dried up, proving that the medication he has taken in sure worked well. He was quite energetic today by the look of his eyes rolling and his tail swaying from left and right wherever I went. His tongue looked better. The swell on his face has gone down well too. In a day or two, his face would be alright.
Except for his fractured paw and wounded spine from his earlier accident, he looked quite healthy to me. I gave him the physiotherapy as I did yesterday and it almost got me another scratch. He bit me! It was just a soft bite pulling my hand closer to him. He even purred and rubbed his head against my hand. See! That’s what I call love… love bite... haha :P
He performed well today, eating more and gaining more energy as he should. He took in 15cc of liquid diet and 10cc of water. That was a jump compared to yesterday. Unfortunately, he was still “cage-ridden”. Boy… I hate that word “cage”! I hope he gets better soon as I might not be around to check on him few days from now as I would be attending a seminar outstation. Anyway, I have arranged with my friend, the mechanic, to check on him during my absence. He should do that too since Panther is also his cat. Well, Panther sounded and looked “safe” to me now and by a few days, he should be gaining back his weight. I hope. No matter what, I am not taking the risk of bringing him back yet. I will still leave him with the vet until I am back from my seminar. Anyhow, he is still immobile and the clinic would still be a safer place for him still. I just hope the vet would not charge so highly for solely his accommodation as he is now having less jabs. Let’s pray it’s free. :P
I am now contemplating whether to ask him to give up Panther for adoption. (If there is someone out there who will shower Panther with more love, attention and has a safer environment for him.) Some people had asked me to adopt him since I had put in so much effort in getting his life back... again. I have to apologize. I can’t. Panther needs undivided attention and I have 6 kitties at home which have taken up most of my time. The best I could do is to post up his information on the internet to see if anyone is interested to adopt him.

PANTHER - THE CAT WITH THE FIGHTING SPIRIT
For more on what had happened to Panther and his previous progresses, you can read more in my earlier post “HIS LIFE COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER”. I would also like to thank all of you who had given me as well as Panther some comfort, prayers, donations and great advices. You all have great hearts!
LATEST UPDATE: 18/5/08 6.50PM
I was supposed to visit Panther this morning but the vet was out for an appointment. Moreover, today is a Sunday over here and the clinic was closed. I waited and waited until 1.00pm but yet I did not receive his call. I almost blew my top as I had promise Panther that I would see him in the morning and I hate to break my promise. Finally, the vet called up at 2.00pm and apologized for his lateness. He had two more emergencies after his morning appointment. I forgave him. You do not usually see many people who are that committed and responsible as he is nowadays, especially on a Sunday.
I rushed over to the clinic immediately after the call and without even saying hi to the vet, I was already in Panther’s recuperating room. The vet laughed at me and told me that I must have loved Panther a lot to just ignore him that way. Then only did I realize that I did not even wish him. LOL!
Anyway, Panther was still in a groggy state. His face was still swollen but not as bad as yesterday. As I was asking the vet about his progress while stroking him, I felt a soft tap on my hand. It was Panther giving me a hand shake and his tail was curling up a bit and swaying but with not much of energy. I almost burst in tears. He was conscious of my presence but without the ability to move his body any further. According to the vet, he tried to stand up this morning but fell down again after a few attempts. That’s the fighting spirit I’m looking for in Panther and he sure has it still. But, I would still prefer him to lie down for the time being to get that fractured paw healed. Maybe, he was trying to hunt for me since I was not there in the morning as I had promised yesterday. I won’t know for sure.
Based on the progress report from the morning, the swell on his face has reduced quite significantly. Thanks to help of the modern medication that was able to ease his agony. The sewn stitches looked fine as the wound had joined up quite well. His tongue was still a bit swollen but what made me happy was that he was able to consume more than what he did yesterday. 3cc of liquid food and 4cc of water were all he took in this morning. That was a good record so far considering that he was still having pain in taking in more food. Unfortunately, his body temperature was still on the high side. The vet is still trying his best to get the temperature down to the normal level.
Since the time I arrived at the clinic, it was also time to feed Panther more food and water. Surprisingly, he took in EVERYTHING without even dripping a drop. He was wonderful. He took in 5cc each of the food as well as water. I was impressed. That should be the way he should behave but that was all he could take in. After consulting with my vet, I also turned his body every half an hour and gave him some physiotherapies. Thanks Crystal of Save Moki for advising me to do that. I hope he will be in a better condition and can walk better when he recovers. What scared me is that when I tried to tickle his fractured hand, there was no response. The vet told me that it might take a week or so before he could really move his hand and the painkiller he was taking in may cause some numbness to his body.
When I left the clinic, Panther was fast asleep. I hope his temperature will go down by the time I see him again tomorrow. I shall not stop my prayers for his speedy recovery again tonight.

HIS LIFE COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER
LATEST UPDATE: 17/5/08 11.30PM
I am real sorry if my post had caused much stress to some of you. It is just my way to describe in detail of what had happened after Panther had been admitted into the clinic. That is the reason I dare not share any photos of how gross his swollen face is now. He could hardly open up his right eye. I better stop here or else I will get myself into more stress thinking about his condition now.
I had spent 3 hours with Panther this evening, comforting him and trying to persuade him to take in more food and water. It is really tough to feed him when he is under the influence of pain killer. I can feel his tummy growling but he could hardly swallow much. Can you imagine him with his size taking in only about 1.5cc of liquid diet and 2cc of water? According to the vet, that was the best record so far. Most of the time, he would just take in 1cc of water and not much food at all.
I did not know what happened to me. I was just sitting there, stroking him endlessly, and talking to him nonstop. I wondered if he could understand me at all with his eyes shut. It was getting late and I gave him one last stroke, telling him that I will be back to see him again tomorrow. As I was turning my back towards the exit, I thought I heard a soft husky purr. I turned back but saw that his eyes were still shut but at one corner of the eye was some wetness. He was in tears as if wanting me to accompany him through the night. I have no choice as I have other commitments to handle and I left with my eyes red. So am I now :~~(
LATEST UPDATE: 17/5/08 12.20PM
I received a call this morning at 9.00am from the vet, something that I fear of as I did ask him to call me in case there is an emergency. Luckily, it was just a progress report. I was told that Panther slept through the night without having any problems or complications. It could be due to the additional two shots he received last night. This morning, he was screaming and shaking in pain. He was again given another jab to calm him down. The vet managed to feed him some water and liquid food but he was not taking in much as most of the food dripped out. It was a pity sight and I hated animals being caged in too. I wished that he would not have injured so much on the mouth, especially on the tongue. Better still, he would not even be in this stressful accident.
Sassy did suggest that I take in Panther and let him be an indoor cat. In fact, he was an indoor cat guarded by 3 caring dogs. We were still curious to find out what made him wander so far away from the garage that day. Unfortunately, I do not think that I have the means to adopt him with 6 fast growing kitties at home and I am a bit worried to see how much the vet bill is going to look like now. Moreover, Panther would surely need undivided attention with his handicapped conditions. But, this is a good suggestion and I would check with my mechanic to get him a permanent home or some safer place for him to be in.
I will keep you all posted on Panther’s progress later in the evening when I pay him another visit. Thanks for the endless purrs and prayers.
LATEST UPDATE: 16/5/08 4.00PM
The vet had decided to give Panther 2 stitches on the lips around 1.00pm to make sure that the wound gets heal faster and also to avoid it from getting infected. The X-ray report finally came out. Other than his previous injuries, he had only a tiny hair line fracture.
What a relief! I was afraid that it could have been worst. It looked as if he would be forced to stay immobile for some time. The only thing I’m worried about now is how is he going to eat with his mouth all swollen up. I guessed the vet should know what will be the best for him. We would not know now as Panther is still under the effect of sedatives. He is sleeping soundly now. I will check out with the vet on his condition, maybe later this evening or early tomorrow.
LATEST UPDATE: 16/5/08 12.44PM
TO SOME OF YOU OUT THERE (MY FRIENDS AND NEW FURRY FRIENDS) WHO HAD DROPPED IN TO LEAVE A COMMENT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN OVER PANTHER.
If we had saved him earlier when he fell from the roof and nurtured him to what he is today, we would also do the same for him now. I’m not a person who would create a battle zone over here to debate whether what should be done for him. Neither can I describe a long post to elaborate further on what we had tried our best to do. We DID try to carry him for immediate medical attention but he refused to be carried and fight back vigorously. We STOPPED because there might be other parts that may have fractured or broken bones as well and struggling may affect other internal parts.
Both of us are not professional vet, just animal lovers and there are not many vets around here on this small little island. Again, we DID dig out the telephone directory and called all possible vets and pet shops to find someone who was willing to make house calls but NONE was available until 5 hours ago. The mechanic’s wife even put all her chores aside and make sure that Panther has some warm milk ALL THE TIME to calm him down.
Panther is at the vet’s clinic recuperating now. He would have to stay there for a week or more for the vet to monitor his condition. It took 3 of us to grab hold of him before a jab could be given to him. At least he is in better hands now. He had some minor bruises on his right chin, a broken fang, and a badly injured tongue. I’m waiting for the X-ray report to see if any other parts of his body were affected. I will keep you all update on that when I pay another visit later today.
So, I hope no one else will jump into any other conclusions without understanding the actual situation and stresses both of us are having now. Thanks anyway for the wishes and it showed that all of you really care for the welfare of another living creature. :)
You would have read earlier about the bitter life of Panther, the marching cat. His life has been so bad that whenever I visit him, my tears will drip for no reasons. He has to go through the trauma of falling off the roof at a tender age, handicapped and not able to move for months, braving himself against all odds to keep on surviving and finally took the courage to try to walk. Unfortunately, the impact from the fall with a broken spine and injured brain refused to coordinate well to let him walk properly. Can you imagine having to experience more than a year of that sorrow? It hurt deeply inside me seeing him struggling to move himself and falling after a few steps. It’s so painful!
Since I was still having connection problems with my ISP, I had decided to pop in my mechanic’s garage yesterday morning just to check on him. I almost cried. At one corner was Panther dripping blood all over the floor and refusing to be touched by anyone, not even my mechanic and I. It seemed one #$%@^* customer drove into the garage without sighting Panther’s whereabout and knocked him at the chin. I would not blame him too. Any normal cat would have avoided upon hearing the sound of an oncoming car. The problem is Panther was not normal.
Both of us sat there in a daze not knowing what to do. He just won’t let us help him. We could not even check if there were more fractures on his already Lego-joined body. Nobody dare to go near him as he would hiss and show his sharp pointing claws. I could vividly see his painful tears dripping. So was mine.
I hope that he will brave through the ordeal as what he did the last time. I prayed and prayed hard the whole day, hoping that he would have had tense down to at least let us take him for some treatments. I would be taking some time off later to visit him again in hope of a miracle.
Panther… Life has been harsh on you but do not forget that we still love you. Have faith in yourself. Stay strong to fight through this ordeal. I know it is painful for you to hold back but let’s hope that with our love and tender loving care, you will have a better life in the future. Oh God, please listen to my humble plea. Let him stay on for many years to come…
